CFIA Changes Pet Import Requirements

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is modernizing import requirements for pet supplements made of animal products and by-products.  Changes to import requirements will be published on June 24/2024.  CFIA will update their Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) on June 24,2024 to include only 3 categories:

  1. Pet Supplements with no animal origin ingredients
  2. Pet Supplements containing only highly processed animal origin ingredients
  3. Pet Supplements containing animal origin ingredients, not highly processed.
